It is no coincidence Famille Perrin is the leading organic wine grower of the Southern Rhône Valley where they occupy the region’s best terroirs. Nature and tradition are key to the Famille Perrin way and this approach has continued seamlessly over five generations.
The “Domaine des Tourelles” is located at the foot of the village of Gigondas. The vineyard is orientated north west and enjoys a cool microclimate which allows late harvests. Formed of 10 hectares of Grenache (80%), Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, the vineyard of Les Tourelles is located on limestone and sandy soils that are outstanding in the “Clos”, a locality planted in old Grenache vines directly next to the estate and the village of Gigondas.
Tasting Notes
“The 2020 Gigondas Clos Des Tourelles should be a step up. Medium to full-bodied, pure, and remarkably well-balanced, it has a terrific mix of red and almost blue fruits as well as peppery herbs and flowers. Already complex and nuanced, yet concentrated and rich, it’s a serious effort from the Perrin family that’s going to have 15+ years of overall longevity.”
