Domaine de L’Ecu is in the appellation of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, near the city of Nantes, on the Atlantic Coast of France. More specifically, it consists of 22 hectaires in La Bretonnière near the town of Le Landreau, in an area that benefits from significant winds off of the Atlantic that play a key role in moderating the temperature and helping to prevent diseases that occur in otherwise wet viticultural areas.

Tasting Notes

Soft wheat color. Elegant nose with pronounced mineral notes, citrus, lemon and grapefruit notes, delicate notes of white flowers, dried fruits, almonds, toasted notes. Full, opulent on the palate and balanced by a fine acidity, a liveliness that brings the balance of this wine. Slender, complex, powerful, the palate blends notes of orchard fruit, pear, apricot, rhubarb and liquorice. A wine with a great length, finish on white pepper.
