Description
Domaine Boris Champy, founded in 1984 by Didier Montchovet, is a story rooted in the family’s passion for viticulture. The son of a winegrower from Nantoux, Didier chose from the outset to cultivate his vines according to organic and biodynamic principles. In harmony with nature, he listened to the needs of his vines and worked with respect to preserve the balance of the ecosystem. Today, the estate is proud to be certified biodynamic by Demeter, testifying to its long-standing commitment to this respectful approach to nature.
In 2019, the estate entered a new chapter with the takeover by Boris Champy, former technical director of the prestigious Maison Louis Latour and steward of the famous Clos de Lambrays. Drawing on his experience and expertise, Boris has brought a new vision to the estate, while respecting the foundations established by Didier Montchovet. His commitment to excellence and in-depth knowledge of Burgundy terroirs have enabled the tradition of producing exceptional wines to continue.
Tasting Notes
The 2020 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune “Altitude” includes 50% whole bunch this vintage. Dark berry fruit, touches of undergrowth (damp moss on an autumn day), this is beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit on the opening, fine acidity, a little spicier towards the elegant finish. Vivid and energetic.
