Description

Located at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Beaumes de Venise has an unusually warm climate. This allows the grapes to reach full maturity and therefore produce a Vin Doux Naturel (a fortified wine) that will pair perfectly with desserts, especially fruity ones. The winemaking process follows that of white wine for the most part; the grapes are crushed immediately. Racking of the must, low-temperature fermentation. Fortification to keep a minimum of 125g of residual sugar. Fortification in stages. Exclusively stainless steel tanks with early bottling upon filtration.

Tasting Notes

Impressively fresh and perfumed, the Muscat Beaumes de Venise offers up a bouquet of floral notes, backed by hints of pineapple, muskmelon and stone fruit. Full-bodied and rich, carrying considerable residual sugar, this vintage is more of an after-dinner style than a light, refreshing apéritif, but it still represents a high-quality example of the appellation. Drink it young, while the floral notes remain vibrant.
