Description
Winemaking has been essential to Château Thénac for more than nine centuries. This history dates to precisely 1109, when Benedictine monks chose to plant vineyards on this exceptional site, located in the rolling countryside of the Dordogne, east of Bordeaux.
The mixture of both clay and limestone areas is only one of the aspects that sets the Thénac terroir apart.
The health and well-being of the grapevines is the priority.
The various sizes of the stainless-steel vats allow for each plot to be vinified separately. Fermentation and maceration are carried out with a focus on preserving aromatic purity. Extractions are done prudently and measured so that only the finest tannins are released.
